Draft of the AACC Constitution
The constitution set up the structure of the AACC, placing
the Assembly as the highest policy-making body in the
organization. Next in line was the General Committee, a group
composed of voting members of the Assembly, to meet once a
year. The General Committee elected members of the Executive
Committee, next on the chain of command. Following were the 5
acting commissions within the General Committee: • The
Life of the Church • Social, National and International
Responsibility of the Church • Youth • Education •
Literature and Mass Communication The constitution also
put forward the mission of the AACC: To be a fellowship of
churches who confess Jesus Christ as Saviour and work as a
consulting, cooperative body for the fellowship of the Church.
The purpose of the AACC was defined by the constitution as
enabling African churches through unity, education, funding
and providing information.
