Conclusion
Delegates who came to Lomé with uncertainty left with
a renewed sense of hope. New leadership from Archbishop
Desmond Tutu and Rev. José Chipenda lent a face of credibility
to the AACC. The socio-political issues at the heart of Lomé’s
discussions may have seemed insurmountable, but the Assembly
sent its delegates out with trust in a God who would oversee
and care for their faithful action.
