Theme: Troubled, But Not Destroyed

October, 1997

Finance and Personnel Committee Report

While the AACC’s contributions from overseas have been declining – as they have for other institutions as well – ecumenical partners have stepped up their support. Also of financial concern is the fact that only 15% of member churches pay their annual contributions. This trend may require the AACC to review the membership of these churches. Good news from the committee:
• Sound investments in AACC property
• Strong financial management
• Library expansion
• Expressed desire to make the Training Centre a diploma-awarding institution

Summary of Other Reports

In other AACC news:
• The General Committee was expanded by nine members
• 8 churches were admitted as members
• Decided that member churches must settle payments within two years, and new members were only admitted after paying
The AACC proposed to make better use of the internet and technology Land-mines were declared a priority, including supporting the Ottawa Convention
