Prayer Alert for Cameroon's General Elections

Ecumenical Greetings from the Secretariat of the All Africa Conference of Churches.

The citizens of the Republic of Cameroon will be going to the polls on 12th October 2025 to vote for candidates of their choice for the Office of the President and members of the National Parliament. We know how elections can be emotive and elusive in our continent, where those who have lost often don’t accept losing and winners are not magnanimous and courteous in winning. Such scenarios sometimes lead to disruptions and needless violence leading to sociopolitical instability and economic downturn.

Our faith constantly reminds to pray for one another as written in James 5:16 that says “…Pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Therefore, we invite you to pray for the nation of Cameroon that the elections will be peaceful, fair and credible for the common good of the nation.

May God of life hear our prayers. Amen.
